The Trailer Park Trash Bash 09

"Rotten, trashy, poor, cheap, stinky, drunkards, booze and a dog was the order of the day for the American trailer park trash theme party."

That really sums up Julian's Trailer Park Trash Bash @ 28th March 2009. First and most importantly, need to extend a HUGE thank you to Juls for coining up this insanely fun theme and for his generosity for hosting it.

To all that came, hope all of y'all had a rockin' good time, and will think back of that crazy nite with much laughter for many years to come.

In case any of you were wondering what the objective of the theme was meant to be, there is a simple explanation to it. If we're not mistaken, the meaning of trailer trash originated from the U.S. It's a derogatory term for white people of low socio-economic standing. The belief that those of low standing within society often reside in cheap trailers inside trailer parks. As such, there is a popular cultural conception that they are too poor to afford much. Now, we in no way mean to berate or degrade such people, its merely a theme. In Malaysia, its akin to calling certain people Jingjang or Ah-Lians or Bengs. It's just a name, we don't meant anything malicious by it. Anyway, back to Trailer Trash, if we have anything in common, it's our love for drinking, albeit in different ways. We know they don't drink and party at big upscale clubs. They do it Trailer Trash style. And that is what we attempt to bring to you guys. So there you go.

We did our little research and got items which we believed were relevant to the theme. Building a trailer was of course the main priority. The neighbour which we replicated in the form of a giant poster were the next step. Misplaced tyres, fire extinguishers, empty cans of engine oil, empty bottles of beer/broom/rubbish lying around the compound and a makeshift sofa were the other form of 'decorations'. We also had a children's pool filled with ice where the beer were thrown in. A makeshift Trailer Trash's chiller so to speak. Lastly, to associate lower class society to crime is a must. The idea to have mugshots taken then came about. We made everyone that came take a mugshot at one wall in the venue and later printed it out for them to take home as party gifts, along with a free trucker cap.

The setup now close to completion, we then waited for Julian's guests to arrive decked in trailer trash style clothing.

We'll attempt to summarize Jul's big nite here with some key moments (excuse any discrepancies, quite hammered to remember the exact sequences of events !)

Party was supposed to kick off around 6 p.m. But there was this nasty storm which really scared the s*it out us around 5 p.m. Luckily it was just a brief storm which eased up right around party time.

First to arrive was none other than the man of the nite himself, Mr Julian Lee. Juls arrived with the cam whoring-green liquid in a bowl drinking-nigga wannabe Soo Meng Tiong.

Brought with them Popeyes, ice and other stuff like lime and salt to compliment the tequila shots. Shortly after, Vic, Zebra, Yvonne, Mich, Molly & Sebastien aka Sebaruddin rolled in complete with more ammo ( chicken franks and cases of beer ).

Fast forward - Ramesh & Felicia, Alicia & Farique, Adelyn & Ee Shoon, Adrian & Su Ling, Nadine & John, Wendy showed up. Everyone forced to take tequila shots, party started to come to life. Ate some chickens, mingled, played with Ramesh's dog and continuous drinking till 8.30 pm.

As it was earth hour, the lights went off for an hour. We then took the opportunity to 'surprise' Juls with a cake for his belated birthday. We sang, he got a lil embarrased, blew out the candles, made his wish, and then hell broke loose. The funnel made its grand entrance. Jules was not to get away from being the first victim of the nite. Beer, Tequila, more beer, saliva all was thrown into the funnel. Jules, in all his drinking capability took position, squated wushu style and gulped it all in...FOO LAA MAK !!!

OK, what happens after that was all a blur. Fast foward again.

- More funneling for everyone.

- Rick Kee, James arrived. No time to waste. Straight away 'funneled' them

- Jo diligently worked on the mug shots. Sweet outcome

- Tiong decided to work his charm on some helpess girls. Not so successful we think

- Lots of 'we-are-men-lets-drink-like-a-men-bonding"

- Whiskey from the bottle

- Tiong decided to go crazy and 'supplexed' Debra and Yvonne.TOGETHER. Not separately.

- Laughter everywhere

- Good music

- John became superman. Drank an insane amount of Chivas on the back of 'moral' support from the boys

- Wendy went crazy with the camera

- Some people decided to sing Lisa Loeb's "Stay" accapella style.

- Wuen, Karen and Jacie came later. Jacie almost got lost and she came dressed for the wrong party.

- Fred and Shirley came. Apparently Tissa became his best friend.

- More mugshots. This time in a group. This time it was crazier.

- Rick Kee was supposed to leave for another party, but we found him behind his car 2 hours later, unable to move.

Time flew by quickly, it was now 2.30 a.m. Friends, both old and new said their good byes. Had some problems with the shutters, James showed what a handy man he was, rectified the problem. All got home safely.

We hope everyone got up with not too much of a hangover. We hope that everyone will think back of Jul's party with good memories. Memories that remind us that good company equals good times. Thanks Jules and thanks all. Lastly, Happy Birthday Julian !!

The Big Brazilian BBQ Bash 09

Barbecues are always fun. Big Brazilian BBQ Bashes however, are always awesome! Why have a normal backyard bbq with the usual sausages, burgers and chicken wings and a token tiki torch when you can bring the spirit of Brazil into your party?

On the 28th of Feb we transformed our empty store into a 'carnaval' of green and yellow, complete with a faux beach bar.

Our signature wall of signatures.

The makeshift beach bar that everybody loved.

The wannabe bartenders with 'tanned and toned' bodies which not everybody loved.

You probably think we spent a bomb to get this place spruced up like this huh? You'll be surprised to know we didn't. Get in touch with us, we will plan a bash for you and your friends/family/staff that would cost only as much as you want it to be and nothing more......

Party Venue

Most of the problems you get when you're thinking of hosting a party at home is:
  1. Will my house be messed up?
  2. Will the noise affect my neighbours?
  3. Will the other people living with me agree to have such a party?
  4. Will I have to end it early?
  5. Is my place big enough for me to invite all my friends?
Going to a club, bar or restaurant can be expensive, and unless you book the whole place there will be other people taking your space. Sometimes you want total peace and quiet with no interference from others and that will require a private space.

We have an empty venue space in Ara Damansara, Subang that can be transformed into any type of setting you wish. If you'd like to host a party but don't know where to do it feel free to contact us for more info.

Black & White Chic New Years Eve

Back in 2008 for New Year's Eve we organized a small dinner for 15 at an apartment in Damansara Perdana. The apartment was empty and did not have any furniture. The theme of the night was black & white chic, to symbolize the end of the old and the start of the new, more classy future ahead. We had the guests dress up in black, white or silver. And everything in the apartment was of the same colour scheme.

The table was arranged in a huge rectangular shape so that everyone at the table could see each other and talk easily, instead of one long table where a person could only talk to whoever is sitting across or next to them. As this was a celebration with close friends it was important to keep everyone close to each other.

The Party Pistons

The Party Pistons is a party design & planning company located in the Klang Valley, Malaysia. We specialize in helping you plan that perfect party covering every detail from A-Z no matter if it's for 10 people or 100 people.

We understand that parties are essentially moments in time that people would like to remember and hope to reminisce about with good friends and family in years to come. Sure, you could always buy a couple of pizza's and pull out the Monopoly board and call it a party but what is memorable about that? We want to bring your dreams and fantasy alive and ensure you and your friends or family have a wonderful time.

Do not worry about not having enough in the budget to throw a party. We will work with you and ensure the party will be great whatever the budget is. We can even provide a venue for your parties. We understand that sometimes it is not viable to hold parties in your own house because of space, noise and mess issues so an external venue is ideal. So to make it easier for you we have a 22x75 space available for rent that can be used as a venue.

So come on and let's throw a party. No more stressing out when it comes to planning it. Just sit back, relax and just enjoy your party.
